Liberty 2014 Update #2 – Robert's Fall

If you were watching the live stream last night you saw Robert Royston fall during his and Nicola’s Showcase routine.

Not fall, really. He actually melted down to the floor, in slo-mo, with breathtaking timing, technique, and teamwork.

It was scary.

He’s fine, don’t worry. It’s a pulled groin muscle.

Ballroom was cleared, paramedics strapped him to a gurney and ambulanced him to the hospital where they gave him heavy-duty anti-inflammatories, pain medication, and crutches. He’s in pain but can hobble around VERY carefully and will be emceeing the Jack and Jills (the man is crazy) at 2:30 today.

Put a bit of a damper on last night’s festivities. For a little while. Dancers cannot be dampened. Social dancing last night was great, again, a second night, and Louis’ music was inspired. The ballroom was still packed at 3:30 when we left.
